A-Z Dating

When we were engaged, some of the advice we heard most often was, “Date your husband. Make it a priority. Go on dates together.” I thought, “What’s the big deal?” That should be easy, right? Dating pre-marriage was never hard at all. Turns out our friends gave that advice for a reason. Whether it’s finding the time or figuring out something fun to do besides dinner, it’s easy to get in a dating rut.

“Marriage is hard work; never stop dating your spouse just because you’re married.”

It’s the start of the new year, which means it’s time to kick off our alphabet dating challenge! I wanted to start with an activity we both hadn’t done before and also get kudos points for slipping in multiple A’s.  We picked a weeknight to begin our surprise ‘A date’ which was inspired by our recent movie night binge of The Hunger Games.  For those who are new to ‘alphabet dating,’ take a peak at our previous post “The A-Z’s of Dating” to learn more!

B Date was my husband’s turn to plan and he came up with something completely original! He called it “Being the Best” date and a winner would be determined at the end of the date. And by winning, a plastic trophy would be proudly displayed in our home with their name on it. Winner would be determined by three B-themed events.

‘Being the Best’ would have to compete at basketball, boardgames and a baking competition.
